The Knicks have shut down extension talks with Karl-Anthony Towns and Josh Hart until later in the season, the team told ESPN's Shams Charania on Friday, saying the focus is "solely" on getting ready for opening night. The last offer on the table for Towns was roughly four years and $200 million, sources told Charania, which sits some $76 million shy of the more than $276 million he is eligible for. Towns said Monday that he wants to keep the team together and be valued, and that "none of those things have come close to happening." Hart, who is making $20.9 million this season, said on media day that he doesn't expect his to get done either. The reigning champions, now 53 years of waiting in the rearview, have a second-apron ceiling from James Dolan, and Mitchell Robinson already walked to Boston.
