The defending champion Knicks begin their preseason schedule against a revamped 76ers squad that added LeBron James and Jaylen Brown to an already star-laden roster, per Posting and Toasting. Coach Mike Brown plans to rest his core players through the exhibition slate after their short offseason following a championship run. New York will focus on evaluating depth at center, with James Wiseman, Tony Bradley, and Drew Eubanks auditioning behind starter Karl-Anthony Towns against Joel Embiid. Contract situations remain unresolved for Towns, Hart, and Miles McBride, though neither team is likely to reveal its full playbook in a meaningless preseason game. The Knicks swept Philadelphia in the second round of the playoffs and are favored by six points tonight.
