Ariel Hukporti's stint with Philadelphia has been derailed by injury. The 24-year-old center sustained a right Achilles injury during the 76ers' opening exhibition game against the Knicks, per New York Post. Testing the next day confirmed the diagnosis, and he faces surgery. Hukporti signed on with the Sixers this summer on a one-year, $3.4 million deal after winning a championship with the Knicks in 2025-26. The setback has salary cap ramifications: the team is now eligible for a $1.7 million disabled player exception but sits just $1.8 million below the first apron.
