u/ninetydeuce · 13hYeah, I'm not concerned about KAT or Hart's future on the team because I expect them both to reach an agreement. It's really Deuce that I feel like will be the odd man out just because of the logjam we have at the Guard position.

u/yukpurtsun · 10hHart is most likely to stay since it isn't going to increase his salary, its just going to be more years at probably the same level. Kat is the issue, his option amount is 2nd apron territory and i believe he doesn't want to take aav less than that so it will be hard to work out a deal with him. Deuce is in line for a raise since he had a pretty low cost deal originally, he will also probably be moved on for the cheaper options.

u/GoldenBoyRecords · 12hI kind of disagree here especially if Deuce has a strong season. Deuce is one of our more established guards off the bench and is our best defender and shooter off the bench. Are we really saying because we have Alvarado , Kolek, and Clarkson Deuce is expandable? If Deuce can stay healthy and if he puts up what he did last year he might be a priority over Hart because of his age.

u/ninetydeuce · 11hAre you willing to pay Deuce McBride a $95 million deal? Because that's what his next extension max is. Are you willing to pay him anything close to $10 million/year after you just paid Jose what Deuce is currently making and Kolek would also be a cheaper extension option? Do you want to risk losing Brunson or OG next season when they're extension eligible because Dolan doesn't want to be in the second apron? These are questions you have to ask yourself when considering Deuce McBride's extension. As much as we love him, the bottom line is there are other players ahead of him on the priority list. Hart being one of them.

u/GoldenBoyRecords · 11hIn what world is Deuce worth 95M where are you pulling that number from lol? Peyton Watson got 4yr/88M and your saying Deuce is getting 95M? If Deuce puts out a 6th man of the year campaign I don’t think 10M is out of the question but again that is part of the reason why the FO isn’t in rush to finalize extensions now. What we paid Jose is irrelevant to Deuce as they have different skillsets and Alvarado contract isn’t even fully guaranteed. Hart will be 32 when he starts his next contract where Deuce will be 26. Typically players don’t get larger contracts at 32 especially ones that aren’t particularly offensive minded. Depending on the type of season each have it might change is all I’m saying. Hart is going to get paid less on his next extension anyway so they def have room to fit Deuce. All I’m saying is I wouldn’t immediately write off Deuce especially since this season will play a large part in the contracts they get.

u/ninetydeuce · 11hIn what world is Deuce worth 95M where are you pulling that number from lol? Source So again, are you willing to pay Deuce $95 million or anything near $10 million/year and risk his extension potentially affecting what they can do with Brunson and OG next season? I'm not completely writing Deuce off. I'm just saying he's not in a favorable position with the Knicks at the moment compared to the others. Even if he has the career season you're hoping for. It's not his fault, blame the CBA for the hard cap and Dolan for publicly restricting what the front office can do to prolong this window.
G
u/GoldenBoyRecords · 11hYou quoting a random article that says what he is eligible for as opposed to saying what his actual market is? It’s hard to say Deuce at 10M will effect Brunson and OG without 1st knowing what KAT and Hart ma contract look like.
N
u/ninetydeuce · 10hBro... Deuce's max is $95 million. KAT is $276 million (it's reported that he was offered $200 million and declined). Hart is $139 million. Next season Brunson is between $290 million to $323 million and OG is $286 million. A recent report by a Knicks beat writer projects Deuce at $60 million, which would be $15 million/year. We've just seen them let Mitch walk because they did not want to pay him that same yearly amount. They have yet to pay any of their bench players a contract that's close to $10 million/year under this current CBA. So what makes you think they're willing to do that for Deuce?
G
u/GoldenBoyRecords · 9hI said it would be dependent on the type of season Deuce has. When we signed Donte we paid him 10M and he was coming off the bench. Why are you repeating what there maxes are as if that is what they are going to get. When you say Josh Hart is eligible for a 139M do you actually believe we would offer him that at age 32? That article isn’t a report it’s using fake numbers to lay out potential scenarios.

u/ninetydeuce · 9hYou just arguing to argue at this point. 😂

u/GoldenBoyRecords · 9hCorrecting things that are not true isn’t an argument but you got it again.

u/Unlucky_Lawfulness51 · 13hLet’s just call this year the last dance. Let’s enjoy it. We can’t hate on our team for trying to get their bag. It is the nature of things. With that being said I condone a strike. This 2nd apron rule is nonsense. Especially with the ticket prices Knicks fans are being asked to pay.
